Change of Soccer Uniforms For 2 of the Top Players
Real Madrid's president Florentino Perez returned, so it was only a matter time before large sums of money were exchanged to sign up some of the most popular soccer players in the world. Real hopes to return to their glory days and be champions in Spain, Europe again.
Perez hopes to build on his previous success in building a formidable Real soccer team that includes great soccer players such as Zidane and Luis Figo. This man went on a shopping spree at the beginning of 2000 that culminated with four stars in Madrid's bag. It cost PS132 million.
Real apparently paid AC Milan $94.90million for Kaka. Ronaldo was purchased from Manchester United for $131.2million, bringing an end to months worth of speculation. Kaka was a'reluctant hero', but his heart was still set on AC Milan. He accepted the move after realizing that clubs are businesses and the realities of global recession. He is helping Milan to get out of its financial crisis. Kaka, a Brazilian 27-year-old, passed a medical exam at Recife's Brazilian national team training camp and was then transferred. Kaka stated that he can now officially declare himself a Real Madrid player during a press conference. Kaka clarified that although my professional relationship with AC Milan is over, my emotional connection will not end.
Kaka will be wearing the Real Madrid soccer uniform, but you have to wait until June 31st to see him. He is on duty to Brazil's national team and is all set to play in South Africa at the Confederations Cup. It is unclear if he will be wearing the number five soccer jersey. Perez wanted him to wear the soccer shirt but Kaka expressed reservations. According to the Brazilian star, "Wearing the number 5 would be a huge responsibility." Zidane was a great player for Real Madrid as well as France and I would not like to wear the number he wore.
Ronaldo, a Man U forward, moved to Real for $131.2 million! Ronaldo wanted to join Real because he had always dreamed of playing for the club when he was a child. Manchester United denied receiving an offer from Real to sell Ronaldo for PS80 million. It is the highest ever paid price for a football player in history!
Ronaldo's departure from Man U will mean that the famous number 7 soccer jersey worn by greats such as George Best and Eric Cantona David Beckham will be available. And Sir Alex Ferguson, the coach, will have to do all he can to find a player worthy.
Kaka and Ronaldo have won over Kaka, so rumors are circulating that Franck Ribery will be next on Perez’s highly-publicized shopping list...
